RTX 2070 XC Gaming Scanner OC crashes and manual OC crashes in games.
Proto1nf3ction93 View Profile View Posts. Does anyone own an rtx ultra gaming card and does it run well when playing fallout 4? Last edited by Proto1nf3ction93 ; 19 Oct, am. Showing 1 - 15 of 22 comments. Ceejay View Profile View Posts. What resolution? Even a is overkill for fallout 4 at p. My gtx get 60fps though I do have godrays down a notch. I got a 27 inch x p hz monitor. I know the game will only handle 60fps but there are some other games i play also that can run at Just wanted to know if the will be stable without any crashes or problems.
I'll keep the game at 60fps still and turn down godrays since that is broken and have everything else on ultra. The only graphics issue I have had with it is the "overpowered player killing the scorchbeast queen" bug.
Which is basically someone with an explosive weapon, plus the full solar power armor set from Vault 94 doing like a jazillion DPS. It crashes most graphics cards, including the RTX due to the excessive amounts of pew pew going on from the one player. Originally posted by Bored Peon :. Originally posted by Bronze93Talos12 :. RTX card? Telling you right now, Disable weapon debris or you're gonna have a bad time.

The game runs smoothly on max settings. I only drop frames during huge fights in heavily modded areas.Buy THIS Instead - RTX 2070 Review

I have just started my first Fallout game and it keeps crashing. I'm at the start where you get the pistol and shoot the bugs but it keeps crashing and the game keeps automatically cutting out. I am maxing out every setting. What is going wrong? EDIT: Note, the issue is now fixed. It was due to the Weapon Debris effect.

That's the least likely scenario, but the most serious, so be on the lookout for any issues in other games, like artifacting, expoding pixels, etc.
Other than that, try setting the card to the "Lowest" factory clock. Fallout 4 hates overclocks, even overclocks that pass Timespy 3D with ease.
Anythin ghigher than pre-boost clock and Fallout 4 like to crash every hour or less. And like others have suggested, turn off Weapon Debris. The RTX cards don't deal with them very well, hell, the 10 series cards don't either.
Originally posted by Hobo Misanthropus :. I turn off the weapon debris effect and no more crash. I have been trying everything, but this worked, thank you! I tried the disabling of the weapon debris, still crashed. Tried running at lowest setting, with weapon debris turned off and offline, still crashing.

I have no mods installed because I was going to compare a clean install vs modded. I set my graphics at Ultra for everything at p and fps never drops below However within minutes of running the game it will ctd out of no where. I thought it was because I was over clocking so turned that off and It still crashes so I don't think overclocking was it.
Especially because my overclock settings works fine in every other game I play. I'm not sure whats going on Showing 1 - 15 of 32 comments. RTX 2070 XC Ultra Issues
Same issue here, except with a ti; it doesnt surprise me since they never bothered to put in a simple support for this game. Prior to launch it gives me an "unrecognized" for my GPU config; frame rate has also dropped about and then it crashes about minutes into a session.
Again, not surprising though. Yes, because it's totally the game's fault that the rtx cards use advanced hardware that the engine has no support for and Bethesda couldn't have anticipated.
It's nvidia's fault, not bethesda's. Originally posted by JtDarth :.Home Discussions Workshop Market Broadcasts. Change language. Install Steam. Store Page. Fallout 4 Store Page. Global Achievements.
Every so often it doesn't immediately crash, but crashes within the first 10 or so minutes of gameplay. There is no error message, the game just closes out. And when I installed the card, the launcher could not detect the type of card I was using.
Has anyone else ran into this? Possible solutions? The author of this topic has marked a post as the answer to their question. Click here to jump to that post. Showing 1 - 15 of 16 comments.
If that doesn't work try re-seating your graphics card on your motherboard. I have a similar problem if I go over x CTD before the game loads. The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic. Quite a few have come across this, like you, they have purchased one of Nvidia's new Turing cards.
Turn off weapon debris, known to cause ctd's. Also try restarting your computer, idk if it will help but its worth a shot. In the past Fallout would crash just as I pressed play but after restarting it was fixed. I just bought the and I am having the issue. I will try turning of weapon debris. I am unsure it is a driver issue or with the card itself. On occasion when I boot up my pc there is only a black screen and I have to reboot to get video. The monitor does not say no signal detected, there just isn't any video coming through. I am also getting CTD's when playing Fallout 4 after minutes of playtime.
I have the latest driver I only tested Fallout 4 for a limited time on the old GPU's with the new driver but it did make it past the 10 minutes where it would normally CTD.
The Crunchinator. Improved the verification of GPT partition.
Removed the card-reader item in popup menu. Fixed legacy boot fail. Yes but in my apps and features section I am seeing two instances of the latest driver. My AX is about years old. I am using two pci-e cables. Not sure about the latest bios version though. You should check your Bios, if nothing else go into the Bios and Reset to the Defaults. Unplug your network cable and or WiFi Network. Allow the needed restarts and complete all the uninstalled until you see non in the add and remove programs.
Complete the Driver install and even if the you are not told to restart your computer restart it anyway. Play Games and see how they run now.Like any Bethesda game at launch, Fallout 4 has its fair share of bugs and glitches.
While some of them can be even quite funny, others manage to completely crash your game without any error code. Don't start a new game! Heard many people do this to have it come back and returning to an earlier save might make the bug come back too as it could be related to location or something else. Just gotta hope for a patch. Some people have even upgraded their OS to have the crash return. The crash seems happen because the area changes, there is a console command that resets the area I don't reccomend using it tho as it could change the game and a quest that changes the area that stops the crash.
This means that a patch should hopefully stop the problem. It is fairly Game-Breaking as many main story quests go through this area making the game impossible to complete if you have the bug and don't use console commands.
Since the appearance of the bug, users have been posting workarounds for the PC version of the game. Please note, that not every quest has its own workaround yet.
We have listed the current available workarounds below. The Workarounds have been tested but save before using them in case, typing something in wrong could cause something different to happen.
Most of the Workarounds don't skip that much unless they say otherwise. We've tried to keep this as spoiler-free as possible so you should be fine. If you're having a problem with this Shadow of Steel quest where you crash on the Vertibird then the videos below may help.
Credit to cryttek. Going through the door will cause you to crash again. This quest is outside so I can't spawn you near the person unfortunately but like the rest of the Silver Shroud quests, you just have to kill somebody so we'll use the console to do it. Save before this one, I did this and it worked but I had a different quest bugged so I cant be sure if the full quest will complete. I removed a quest from my log which caused the. Den to be bugged, i dun goofed up.
If not then do the same and Ill make sure it works, would do that now but super tired. You can also kill Northy by shooting him and not going into the crash area, may require trial and error so save is advisable see page 4. If the game tells you to search Northys body but you can't go towards him because of the crash then use the command.Home Discussions Workshop Market Broadcasts.

The game launcher doesn't recognize newer cards, you have to change the settings manually. I had the same problem with my RTX Super. Afaik, Fallout 4 does not support ultrawide monitors. You could search on nexusmods though, I'm sure there are a few mods for ultrawide support.
